Health Question:
I receive a monthly birth control shot, what is it?
Question:
Hi. I'm 18, I live in Mexico, and I had a question on birth-control. I got a shot, its called Patector, I'm supposed to get it on the 7th day after my period starts every month. I've been doing research on how effective this method is, I haven't found any info on this type of shot that you get once a month, I only found info on Depo Provera, but that's every 3 months, so I'm a bit confused.
Response:
It sounds like you are getting the monthly shot that is called Lunelle in the United States. So far, studies show it is highly effective and safe, provided you get the shot on time. But there have been no long-term studies. For more details on the particular shot you got, ask the clinic where you got it.
