The
underlying question in the abortion controversy is WHO DECIDES? Should it be the
woman whose life and family are directly involved? Or should it be the government,
or judges, or Congress, or her insurance company or other outsiders? If I were
to choose, I'd choose a pro-choice world view. Pro-choice teaches tolerance and
appreciation for varying religious and cultural views. In the pro-choice view,
individual conscience and responsibility are valued, along with a community spirit
of empowering individuals with the information and support they need to make their
own best decisions.
