Becky's Story

Hello. My name is Becky and I am 21 years old. On 8/31 I will start my last year at college. My husband-to-be and I have lived together for a year in a few weeks. I believe he was sent to me by the one who watches over us, whoever that may be.

Anyway, I have been on the pill for 2 years and have had no problems...until now. I had a horrible case of poison ivy this summer and had to take antibiotics and steroids for a few weeks. I was instructed to use as alternate method of birth control by my pharmacist. So, to be really sure, I used two. The condom broke and we didn't realize it until it was too late.

I do not know that I am pregnant for sure, but I am crampy and my breasts are tender. I am due to start on Sunday. I hope that this is all cause by stress but my heart tells different.

Matt has been VERY supportive and he blames himself. We have decided that now is not the time to have a child. We want to be set financially and we want to make sure we are mature enough to be good parents.

This is a difficult decision for us because we both LOVE children and we can't wait to have our own. We think that I should finish school and hold a job for a few years before we start our family. So we have been planning as if I am pregnant so as to be prepared, if at all possible, for what may be.

I have come to grips with what may happen, so I want to thank you for listening and for letting me post my story--it really does help.
