TAKE CHARGE
Free Birth Control for Women and Men who live in Washington State
YOU CAN GET
- FREE Birth Control - Options include birth control pills (oral contraceptives), IUD
(intrauterine device), Diaphragm, Cervical Cover, Depo Provera
(3 month shot), Implanon (3 year implant), Emergency Contraception Pills (Plan B), Vaginal Ring, Contraceptive Patch, or over-the-counter methods like condoms, spermicidal gel, foam, cream, film, sponge, etc.
- FREE Male and Female Condoms - to protect you and your
partner from pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infections
(STI), including HIV/AIDS.
- FREE Vasectomy or Tubal Ligation for permanent sterilization.
- FREE Birth Control Knowledge. Get answers to all of your
questions.
You can sign up at Cedar River Clinics in Renton or Tacoma or a variety of other birth control clinics.
If you live in Washington State, you may qualify for FREE
birth control when you apply for Take Charge. You can click here to print out the form
and bring it you or fax it in before your appointment (Renton: 425-255-0262 or
Tacoma: 253-475-5949). You can also
apply in person at Cedar River Clinics on the day of your appointment.
Take Charge entitles you to a year of FREE condoms at almost any pharmacy
as well as prescription birth control from our clinic.
TAKE
CHARGE is a government-funded program that makes birth control accessible to women and men. IF you are a teen, you do NOT need your parent's permission.

Do
you know about Emergency Contraception?
EC is a special combination of regular birth control pills that prevents pregnancy
after sex! It is sold as brand name Plan B One Step. You can buy it at any pharmacy, but you have to go to the pharmacy counter rather than pulling it off the shelf yourself.
