Melissa's Story

Two years have passed since my abortion, and I believe I made the best possible choice I could.

I was 24, broke, far from home and anyone who loved me, the man I thought loved me apparently did not, and I knew that bringing a child into such an environment would only subject it to terrible pain. I was on the verge of an emotional breakdown, and two years later still am.

I do regret having an abortion - I wish every day that I had then the resources and the love a child deserves. But I'm glad that the choice was mine to make, even if it was a painful one.
