Julieann's Story

I had an abortion when I was eighteen. I knew I wasn't ready, emotionally, to have a child. I never had regrets, but would occasionally think about what might have been.

Two years later, I became pregnant again and I kept the baby. Now I have the most wonderful little boy who would have never have existed otherwise.

I think it's important to imagine the kind of care you might be offering to a child you are not ready to take care of. Only when you are ready to be responsible for another human being, can you make the decision to have a child.

If there are any doubts about whether or not you can do it, and there is no one else to support you then abortion might be the best choice. However, don't have an abortion simply because you are being pressured to do so. If you are ready to have a child, don't let anyone stand in your way.

The choice to have a child is just as much a right as the choice to not have a child.
