After the Fact

You were not unwanted.
I wanted-
I wanted to take you into my hands
to look at you in and see
the reflections of one-another,
and to reverently touch your fingers.
Did you have fingers then,
at eight-weeks whole?
Or just little duck-feet and
a soul?
